Sri Nettikanti Anjaneya Swamy
Welcome to Sri Nettikanti Anjaneya Swamy Temple, Kasapuram, Guntakal, Anantapur (dist)
The Historic & Divine Abode of Hanumanji
15th–16th Century: The history of the temple is closely connected with Vyasaraja Tirtha, a famous saint and spiritual teacher of the Krishnadevaraya of the Vijayanagara Empire. Hanuman appeared in his dream and told him that an idol was buried underground near Kasapuram. When dug, a large Hanuman idol (around 10 feet tall) was discovered.
Establishment (1521 AD): Vyasaraja installed it and built a temple. He installed about 732 Hanuman idols across India.
Meaning of "Nettikanti": Netti (forehead) + Kanti (glow/divine sight). Devotees believe the eyes and forehead appear very powerful, as if Hanuman is directly watching and protecting.
Architecture & Practices: Traditional Dravidian-style with a large Raja Gopuram. Devotees perform Pradakshina, 41-day prayers, and chant Lord Rama's name.
Thousands of pilgrims share experiences of unexpected positive changes after offering prayers.
